We just got our first Alpine White M235 off the truck. Decided to share some photos. |

I am thinking that 19's will only make the already decent sized fender gap look worse, like how it does on E9x cars without a drop. |

I maybe late to the party, but looks like the AW M235i in the original post by klepto doesn't have the sport automatic (steering mounted) shifters. bmwusa.com lists that as a standard feature on the M235i. Am I missing something?

Wow, you are right. All M235i automatics should have paddles. Something is wrong there!

I saw a few posts on another thread (can't seem to find it now) about dealerships that accidentally ticked the "steptronic" option. Apparently these dealerships incorrectly thought that the 6spd manual was the standard and the steptronic option was the 8spd sport auto with paddle shifters. What they didn't know is that the 8spd sport auto with paddle shifters is in fact standard (as you mentioned) and checking the steptronic option actually reverts you back to the standard (non-sport) 8spd auto without the paddle shifters, i.e. the one that comes standard in the 3er before paying the $500 sport auto option. My advice to everyone is to shop carefully and avoid that non-sport auto it makes a huge difference! Don't turn the dealership's mistake into your buyers remorse!

I test drove that exact car. They only had 1 for demo and it does have paddle shifters.

I have driven two 228i's. One had the paddles and the other didn't. Coming from a manual I don't recall noticing a difference. I was more focused on finding the clutch pedal.

I found this thread (http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showp...26&postcount=9) in this forum. Although that talks about the 228i, it looks like the order page for the M235i is buggy as well for the dealers :-)
I'm going for a test drive of the M235i on Saturday. Yay! |

How long does it take to get from Port Hueneme to the East Bay? Mine just hit the port this morning. Dealer says 1-2 days, possible? |
