Reading Arctic's posts hurts my brain more than AC mesh analysis and 3-phase power calculations did in college. Anyone else feel this way? LOL. FFS, man, get it together before you bother posting here!

Some people here go out of their way sound profound but just end up convoluting their supposed point.

It's an informal web forum not a thesis on quantum physics. Explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old.

For a 100mph (44.4 m/s) lane change to be completed in 25ft (7.6m), the car would have to pull 67g and complete the manoeuvre in 0.17 of a second. This is based on a US highway lane width of 12ft (3.7m) and assuming centre of one lane to centre of an adjacent lane. Any normal road car would also have a problem doing this as it would need to have a turn radius in each direction of 3m, about twice as tight as full steering lock most vehicles.

Assuming a good driver with decent tyres could manage a fully controlled lane change at 1g and assuming suspension reaction time and time to apply steering lock is small, 77m (252 feet) is required to complete the lane change at 100mph in 1.73 seconds.
