As I understand it, Dinan optimizes spring rate for OEM shocks. Plus, they are designed to maintain travel range with their bump stop set-up. These are constant rate springs, so less rebound than progressive springs.

Another nice find on the 2017 M240 is the ability for the vehicle to rev match on down shifts. I have the 8spd auto and the car brake torques when tapping the brakes always keeping you in the the right gear. It does this in comfort, sport and sport +. Much more so in the sport modes. It is not quite as active or perfect as a MT would be ... however, it's extremely good. I came out of a 2014 335 and there is a significant difference in useable torque and power. The M240 is always ready to respond and the power it provides is usable (0mph - 90+ mph). The tune on this car is very strong. If someone is looking for a really spirited car that can be a daily driver .... this is the car! My experience w/ the B58 to date is that it's a really strong set up (even though it's very early in ownership). If someone is looking for a track car then get the M2 because that's what it's built specifically for and it's really good at what it was built for. However, you may give up a lot in the everyday / weekend driving fun as the M240 hit a home run in this aspect.
