I’ve never bought a new car before, but ordered my M240i in March, but it will be at least August before it is delivered. Don’t know if that’s normal or not.

I placed the deposit on the 30th of March, but build didn’t commence until the first week of June. Over two months before they could even find a slot in the line.

The anticipation is obviously killing me.

Ouch, I can't imagine. I placed my order 5 May, went into production within 5 days. Picking her up tomorrow! That is crazy your dealer couldn't get a build slot earlier for you....

Australia doesn’t have quite the same pull as other countries.

I’m guessing there’s a few complexities to orchestrate ... like making sure the ship will be full before sending it all the way down under

Yep pretty much 3 months from order to delivery. Ordered right at the end of December, just before the new year.

Got the following response re: dock time to delivery



“Just wanted to give you an update and let you know that your vehicle is scheduled to arrive into Australia on July 31st, so I will contact you a few days after that date to confirm its safe arrival.

From arrival it usually takes around 3 weeks until your collection, as there are a lot of processes involved (customs) as well as bookings to be made for transport and lastly programming and detailing.”
