Good one

I use Sonax:

I'm on a 228i without the M-Sport so my wheels are different than many here but my winter replica rims do also have that annoying ridge behind the spokes. I've got a set of 3 Wheel Woolies that I love, I also use them on E36 and E39 wheels and they do a great job and can usually get into clean the barrels really nicely. With the smallest wheel woolie I can get in behind the ridge on my winter wheels.
If there's a lot of grime then I use Sonax Full Effect, it's great stuff but as someone else mentioned, using a sealant means that simple car wash soap is able to do a great job too. In the spring, before pulling off my winter wheels, I did a thorough clean of my summer rims and then sealed them with Detailers Pride Wheel Coating. Now I just spray the wheels with my foam cannon, brush with the wheel woolies and rinse off and they're spotless. If they're not very dirty then even just foaming and rinsing is enough. |

Also, to make it really easy, you can use a glass coating like 22PLE or CQuartz to further protect the wheel from brake dust. |
