Thanks!
BTW $800 for PDC is a joke. Should be half that. DAP was $950 with the camera. Last edited by snaketh; 06-12-2017 at 03:43 AM.. |

Just some comments from the perspective of someone who ordered a 2017 late in the model year and wonders whether they should have waited for the 2018. My situation is specific to the 230i xDrive convertible, but there are some general points here also.
Base MSRP of 2018 is $1,650 higher than the 2017. For that you get the LCI updates plus a standard rearview camera and, presumably, a general price increase. Cold weather package for 2017 was $700 which included headlight washers. On the 2018, there doesn't appear to be a cold weather package available, and it is $690 to get just heated seats and steering wheel. I don't see the headlight washers as an option, so I'm wondering why they eliminated that. If rearview camera would have been standard on the 2017, I wouldn't have got the DAP and could have saved, but it's a bonus to get the PDC. For my situation, if I apply similar discounting, it looks like it would be $700 more for a 2018 vs. a 2017 AND I would not have PDC (worth $800 on the 2018) or headlight washers (unavailable on the 2018). Appreciate you posting this AbuQutaita! Last edited by jr_s2k; 06-12-2017 at 01:27 PM.. |

Has anyone actually ordered a car yet on this post? I ordered my first BMW back in June. ordered a 2018 230i with Msport Package. I have the pricing guide for July 11th if anyone is still looking for it. Reason I ask is I thought it was odd that the dealer just emailed me 5 weeks from the day I signed my original build sheet with a new one of the exact same everything asking to sign a new one to submit to have the car built that day. I figured that happened weeks ago after signing the first one. Now I'm being told not to expect the car until September sometime, but they went into production officially mid July. I feel as though maybe they forgot to submit it or something, or is this pretty normal?

My latest (a rush order because my 228xi was being recalled) was ordered on Aug 24th, 2015, was produced on Sept 9th, 2015 and delivered on Nov 18th, 2015.. So a bit over 2 months from production to delivery.

Thanks for the info. Just super anxious to finally have it. I have been checking the BMWUSA build site every few days just to see if I can see a digital version of my actual car yet. So far only the 2017 still. Got my production number this morning from the dealer, but of course I get an error message when trying to track the production this early using it. I just keep telling myself its worth the wait! |

Enter the last 7 digits into the free BMW VIN decoder (url below) and it will list all the info on your order as well as all equipment (std and optional) on your 2er and will also show the production date. https://www.bmwvin.com/

Thanks for the reply! That sucks you had to wait so long as well. I just got back from overseas and don't have a car until this one is delivered. I knew I was going to be with only the motorcycle for a bit, but I was hoping it wouldn't be this long. It officially went into production this morning. The lady on the phone from BMW support told me to expect a mid Oct pick up date from the dealership. It's going to be a long 7 weeks, but no regrets!
