One of the vendors here (HP Autosport?) mentioned that TCK's Koni-based coilovers are more forgiving than some others when it comes to having space for wider tires up front. That may be one reason I don't have any rubbing, front or rear. I think 245 square is probably the ideal as far as having a practical upgrade goes. I had my car done for street/track duty, so I took it further. It might be useful to consult with a local shop that specializes in BMWs to see what their advice is.

Yeah, or it doesn't apply to your case, or it's not complete, etc. That, and the fact I'm not handy, is why I've always looked for the most qualified shop I can find, and then I turn it all over to them. Good luck with it – I'm sure you'll end up with something that works well for you. Don't forget to keep us informed!

Echoing what others have said already, I would definitely get that tire replaced quickly and an alignment. That uneven wear might be an issue with toe on the right side...
If you are looking to source camber plates, Ground Control and Vorshlag are good products as well. I would avoid any plates with spherical bearings in them if your goal is low NVH values. Plates with spherical bearings are stiffer and typically perform better on track but will be louder. -Tom

The goal is to eventually buy your wheels in a square setup so I can have more neutral handling and rotate tires. It's been hell trying to figure out fitment for a 235 or 245 square with lowering springs. Wouldn't mind running camber plates but I've spoken to someone with H&R Springs, ground control plates, and your ec7 wheels in 18x8.5 et35 with 235/40/18 all around and he said he still rubbed in the front and was forced to go to stock springs. It was very sad hearing that because I was really eyeing that setup.

My usual recommendation is our 18x8.5 ET45 wheels all the way around with a 5mm front spacer for the 2 series. This gives the rear a bit more breathing room and the front an effective offset of 40 which is a good balance in my opinion. The only time I wouldn't recommend this offset is if someone is running a suspension configuration that limits inner clearance more than stock, but typically the inner clearance is similar to stock with lowering springs. Our ET45 wheels also aren't available in all of our designs, but we do make them in the EC-7s. -Tom

Any chance I could get a pic of what that setup with ET45 and the 5mm spacer in the front would look like? And would you recommend 235 or a 245 square with that? Thanks Tom!

I'm running 245/35r18 MP4S tires on Alutec Drive 18x8 et43 wheels on all four corners. I have no suspension mods, no spacers, etc. I have no rubbing issues.
I drive quite hard on the street but I don't track the car. I no longer have issues with front shoulder wear. I've got 15k miles on my MP4S tires and the outside shoulders are barely worn more than the inside. The real issue is the narrow 225s most people run. It's not enough tire and the sidewall isn't stiff enough to handle load, especially the soft sidewall Star spec BMW Pilot Super Sports. |

I still don't have a shot of this setup on all 4 wheels on an F22, but here is a post with another forum member running the 18x8.5 ET 45 + a 5mm spacer on the front of their car that might be helpful: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show...7&postcount=59 -Tom

Update! Got New 4S rubber on all four corners. When I brought my car in to swap the tires, I noticed the psi in the front was 28 and 29, and rear was 35 and 36.
On my door jam, the sticker calls for 38 in the front and 45 in the rear. Is this optimal? Feels a bit weird.. hard to explain. It goes 2psi up on all corners when warm. Wondering now if under inflation had something to do with the premature wear as I was ~10psi under on all four corners. Also don't understand why the car didn't say anything to me or give me any warnings for low pressure. Will monitor and check them myself more closely now that I'm aware of this... After putting new tires on, car still drives very straight. I think it's just going to be the tow that is off in the front right. Because of this I'm putting the camber mods on the back burner and looking more at lowering springs for now. Local race shop quoted me 5 hours for the springs install.. seems a bit excessive, I was expecting more like 2-3. Does it really take that long? Thanks!

Attached a pic! Car is MY2020 and came with MPSS staggered setup. Wonder why they changed the recommended pressure. Should I try dropping it down a bit? I'm on PS4S now.

Will switch to square for my next set. Have to get some suspension upgrades done before then.. For now, I'm really enjoying the PS4S tires over the PSS that came on the car, but not sure how it'll be when I up the power soon.
