I think you're on the right track, but it was that they thought it was as slow as those. They realised too late that its faster and didn't have time to stop.

Hahahaha. A test drive with a car not yet broken in, driving at speeds high enough to cause this sort of deal, would be silly. Another silly thing is having a "Sport" button in a car that supposed to be "sporty" to begin with. Yay, an "add 500 rpm button! Sport car!"
I'm guessing that either someone's kid is in a lot of trouble, a parking monkey is fired, or someone got hit. By a teenager in a Prius that was equipped with a set of truck nuts and grille mustache. |

So, is this TPipta's car (See thread above) or some test drive gone bad. If TPipta didn't invest in snow tires I could see that happening. this has been a messy winter in the DC area. Lots of marginal driving with bits of black ice everywhere. Glad I have my Hakkas

There has only a few days where I couldn't drive and had to take the bus or subway due to ice or snow. Last edited by five3three; 03-03-2014 at 08:24 AM.. |

Cars these days are meant to absorb the impact to protect the driver. If the impact had been at a much higher speed, the damage would have been way worse than a simple bumper, hood, headlight and pushed back radiator. Last edited by five3three; 03-03-2014 at 08:25 AM.. |

I have driven w/o snows a fair amount, until the first time I found my tires lacking. It only takes once. No wreck, but *great* difficulty getting to a destination. It also helps to have a few sets of rims plus a garage and tools to make the switch-over painless.

I know I had that experience once too where traction was nearly non-existent. A couple of years ago I got screwed on an ebay purchase for a winter set and spent the entire winter in a claim process to get my $1500 back. After that I just got lazy especially after last winter was not really a winter! Last edited by five3three; 03-03-2014 at 08:47 AM.. |
