Yep - you can lose the title by finding the closest ranking officer to you and doing a pro bono detail on his car. Then you're one of us
Little hazing is good for your character.

If what you say is true, my character is *BLEEPIN* immense! Sorry, I'm all because I just found out I can leave work 1.5hrs early and it's downright GORGE-US outside! I'll do my best to for the next couple of hours... |

You in Chicago? If you are either go find Jessica at the WIT roof (if she's still there) or head up to hotel Lincoln. Calvin. He is the GIANT dude who runs the elevator to go upstairs and basically holds the keys to the kingdom of happiness. This is going to sound weird but trust me on this, stop at Trader Joes on the way and get a bag of yellow raisins. Drop them off with Calvin and never, ever wait to get upstairs again. 2 hour wait to get on the roof disappears for $5 worth of raisins.

Hmm , after 19 years of blue oval experience. I have learned a lot from reading! Lots of busted knuckles and being pissed off with an engineer! I have learned it doesn't matter what brand of car or truck . Every damn one them will piss you off ! I passed the f.n.g status 18 plus years ago! Yes ! I am looking forward to playing with my new BMW 240l soon ! I think very different from others because of what I do for a living. It doesn't matter if it's got tits or tires . It will be a pain in your butt , at some point !

On the other hand, FNG's have been known to occasionally be a PITA.

Don't be a obnoxious FNG, or you'll get banned like watersport_m235i.

There was another guy on our team who had unusually long legs. His nickname was High Pockets. At work, we had a technician named Aaron. We called him Double-A Ron. And on and on.

I saw that. Based on his SN there I am fairly confident (100% in fact) that he was on here before, got banned, but bought my HK speakers in a nightmare of a transaction.
So sad to say my HK speakers were lost in the great flood of 2017. RIP.

I think I know how you feel. I traded in my first motorbike, a super-clean-like-new Honda 50, on a new Honda 160 twin. A couple of weeks later, I saw some puke-a** kid riding it down the street. He apparently took some metal sheers to the rear fender and front fender, absolutely mutilating a perfectly fine machine. It made me sick.

Dad owned 4 airplanes during his life. I own the 3rd one; a modest Piper. Thanks to the FAA Registry, I am able to keep track of all of his airplanes. I'm very happy to see that his last one is still active after all these years. Also and remarkably, his first airplane, a 1939 Porterfield Collegiate (75 HP) is also still active. My son is an airline pilot and also runs his own aircraft brokering business. He's been making noises about possibily making an offer an his grandpa's 4th and last airplane. I would be thrilled to have it back in the family again.

Suggestion for the FNG guide
1. Lurk for a couple weeks before making your first post.
2. During that 2 weeks, fully explore the forum.

I'm a little sorry I don't get to read the end of the story here.
But that brings me to a bigger point: people of this board are a very diverse group, more so than in any of the other forums I've participated in (which includes a couple of motorcycle forums, the Miata forum, collectible forums, and various other car forums). There are kids with their first seriously fast car and there are old men (like me), who've been through all sorts of cars and bikes. There are people who will and can take their cars apart themselves and others who wouldn't change a lightbulb themselves on these cars. Makes for very interesting reading. Almost as good as the Bay Area Riders Forum (yes, BARF) was before LEOs started following and posting; people used to confess to all sorts of crazy 'successfully fleeing the cops' stuff. That was kids too, for the most part. We were all kids once. I did more than my share of stupid shit. And, I'm STILL capable of doing stupid shit. I might have tried to clear that water myself in a moment of impatient thoughtlessness. I'm grateful for the reminder that the original post and photo provided. |
