As an update, I now have the actual Costco sheet dated today, and it clearly indicates M235i is excluded from the program. So there you have it, proof that these posted deals and discount are FOS.

uhh… what? someone obviously got a bad deal.. lol.

Do I just need to have a costco membership (55$?) I've never had a Costco account before.. is there some time limit?

Can BMW incentives be added on top of that? I was going to use BMW education discount ($1,000).

Sorry for the noob questions. This has got me all excited : ).

My dealership doesn't want to seem to negotiate because I am "ordering" the car, so they want me to pay MSRP.

Another dealership that is also near me apparently participates in this costco program, so I would be saving major $$$.

GK,

I spoke to Joel at Costco and Jim MacKenzie at Herb Chambers BMW/Mini in Boston today about Costco's auto program.

Costco does not currently have a negotiated dealer price ("Costco Price") in place for the M235i yet. Negotiated prices are set on a monthly basis for supported car models, both new and existing. There is no target date available, but this gap is on Costco's radar.

Program prereq: You need to be a Costco member. There are no minimum membership length or level limitations.

Both purchase and lease options are available, and current BMW incentives are in play (Joel volunteered this information).

Process (avail online as well)

You call Costco, inform them of the year, make, and model you are interested in and they forward your information to a Costco certified CA at a Costco approved dealership near you. Within 24 hrs you will get a call from the CA (I rec'd a call less then 10min after speaking to Joel) to discuss your need and set up an onsite meeting to go over the "member only price-sheet". The Costco certified CA will need a membership number over the phone and you will need to provide a Costco member card upon arrival at the dealership.

Jim at Herb sent me a follow up email promising a call once the "Costco Price" is available. I will post this information if, and when, I receive it.

I hope this helps.

Also,

On Costco's website they list M235i MSRP at $44,025 and invoice at $39,650.

Since someone asked about the validity of TrueCar.. I am receiving about 2.4% off of MSRP on the M235i by presenting a TrueCar offer at my dealer.

not really, just the realization some of these deals or discounts posted are from folks with great imaginations! There are statements in this thread and others about pre negotiated costco disc on M235 that dont exist...

sorry to hear that. my costco discounted quote is for a 228i. i suppose the m235i is not covered in the program. at least others would benefit from what we've learned.

$300 on a $35-40k car is a drop in a bucket.

The disc is not $300 off MSRP, it is the diff between MSRP and $300 over invoice. Works out to thou$and$.

No, he said he paid $6-700 over invoice, whereas Costco would guarantee $300 over invoice. A $300 difference in the negotiated price of the vehicle is peanuts. I wouldn't lose a second of sleep over it. Comes out to maybe $10 a month extra? Not exactly thou$and$...

OIC what you are saying now, and agree. I didn't get that from your original post.

So we agree it is nominal, the point is there is misinformation in abundance (regarding deals)...

I do find this forum overall is a great resource and the information on every other topic in this forum I find to be spot on. I appreciate my fellow 2Addicts.
