Just a guess but it might have something to do with who he works for and who sponsors the car. Not who you know but who you work for.

First event completed on the wet skid pad at Tire Rack. Currently first in SSGT2 Small Bore and Stock Touring classes. Mike ran a 34.916 mph and pulled 0.755G's. Will have a video uploaded shortly.
Excellent start to the event as we're up against some pretty potent machinery in SSGT2 Small Bore class, and will provide more details on our competition in a letter post. 2 Addicts member Art Sanders from Springfield, IL came out to watch the proceedings. We now heading down Grissom Airbase for the monster autocross, then to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY for a passage control and expect to arrive in Memphis sometime later tonight.

Results are in for today's second event, the autocross at Grissom Air Base, IN.
In first place was Andy Hollis, a SCCA National Autocross Champion with a time of in his highly modified Honda CRX with 49.054 seconds. We placed 18th overall with 53.176 seconds. For the day this places us in 11th overall, 2nd in SSGT2 Small Bore, 0.5 seconds behind a VW GTI reputably with 350hp at the wheels, sequential gearbox, and many more modifications. And 1st in Stock Touring, leading by 1/10th of a second. The events today have been relatively short in nature. Tomorrow we spend the day at Memphis Motorsport Park starting with two time trials followed a drag race and a bracket drag. Currently we're on our way to the Corvette Museum for a passage control, before heading on to Memphis. Here's few pics from the autocross.

We'll be at the BMW Performance Center on May 6th, arriving around 4:00pm. If your picking up you M235i that day, stay around if you can.

Looks like Day 2 was a success on the race track. On your first run, a 20th place and number 1 in the SSGT2 Small Bore with a lap time of 4:01 earn you guys some serious cred. with the big boys out there. I'm sure it was all driver, but I like to think the car had a lot to do with it.
Very nice job! Tied for 6 place overall and number 1 in your class is very impressive. Last edited by Delnari; 05-04-2014 at 09:22 PM.. |

Steve, I've got 2 day M School reservations in two weeks, are the M235i's now part of the M School with the M5s and M6s? Also, do you know the time frame for the M3/4 to be put into the school?

Awesome to see the videos!
Is there anyone else in the SSGT2 Small Bore class that is running "stock"? I only quoted that, because to be fair, your M235i is running an M-Performance LSD. Still, much closer to stock than a 350 WHP GTI. Those cars are monsters at auto-x when modded!
