Love your setup, thanks for sharing!

17x9" ET42 can work with up front with 225/45-17 tires, or even 235 or 245 tires with some negative camber dialed in. The rear is a bit tricky, and will likely require negative camber and/or rolled fenders to use anything wider than a 225. This post has some photos of an 18x9" ET41 setup to give you an idea of how they'll fit. --Dylan

17x9et42 Arc8s hit the vibration damper weights on the rear brake pads.
But if you knock them off (or have track pads that don't have them) then they will fit. The front needed a 5mm spacer. |

[QUOTE]Front & Rear: 17x9" ET42 with 255/40-17 tires
Available in ARC-8 design only. At least 8mm or 10mm front spacers required (hub extender required). 12mm can also work with negative camber dialed in./QUOTE] I saw the Fitment Guide for the F22 was updated to include a 17x9et42 track setup. Do you have additional information? Does it work only at stock ride height? Does it hit the brake pad vibration damper as previously mentioned? Got any pictures of the setup? |

Because of the camber requirement, it's not ideal for a street-only car or for someone looking for a direct bolt-on fitment. It's perfect for combined street/track car as the ability to rotate the tires front-to-rear will cut down on tire costs, and a car like this will already have camber plates installed. As noted above, brake pad modification is necessary, and front negative camber is required. It can work at any ride height as long as the proper amount of negative camber is dialed in up front. It's not a very common setup, so unfortunately we don't have any additional photos yet. Hope this helps! Dylan

That fitment guide is very useful. I ram running -2 camber up front, and completely stock in the back (around -1.6-7) on stock suspension (k-mac camber bushings in the front). Hoping I can fit 245 all around on 18, square setup, without too much messing with spacers and pulling fenders...
Guess I’ll test in the spring! |

Well I guess I am going to be the first! Going to try out some Anthracite EC-7 19x8.5 et35 and 19x9.5 et43 with 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 tires. I'm also lowered on M Performance springs. So this should be a fairly aggressive fitment that does not require spacers or camber. They are back ordered until early October but I can't wait!

So far: 18x10" ET25 SM-10 285/30-18 Bridgestone RE71-r 12, nay 15, nay 20, mm spacer at the front. 15 still had trouble clearing the suspension on the most loaded tire once you put a lot of temperature in it. Testing 20 next weekend. Last edited by msendit; 11-16-2019 at 12:20 AM.. |

Looks great! I assume some negative camber on the rear? Looking to get in on the group buy (previously was a group buy member for my e46 m3 back in 2016), but I'm torn on sizes. I've checked out the fitment guide on the Apex website, but I'm really looking to get a square setup without having to mess with camber too much to fit 235 or 245s all around. I have a set of brand new staggered stock tires that I want to burn up first, but I'll want to switch to a square setup next go round.

I don't have specific alignment info for this car, but I would guess that he is running additional negative camber slightly to fit the 245/35-18s in the rear. the 18x8.5 ET38 wheels are a great option for the 2 series if you are looking to go square! The group buy is only available for the next 7 days so I would get your order in before it closes! -Tom

Here's my current setup:
F: 18x9 et42 w/10mm spacer (will go 7.5 - 8mm this spring) 255/35 RE71R @ -3.1* R: 18x9.5 et43, no spacer, 265/35 RE71R @ -2.2* KW CS 3-way w/ remote reservoirs, F8X LCA/TS's, Brembo GT 6/4 pot 380/345 (these were the only wheels that allowed for the front clearance. Fenders rolled/pulled, no rubbing except for big freeway dips and it's only on the front of the fender liner, could be mitigated but haven't bothered since it rarely happens. Planning to fit 9.5" square with 255's next..

Is this daily driven? What’s the logic behind a smaller spacer? And how could you mitigate the rubbing? |

Tire is rubbing the fender liner. Smaller spacer move the wheel inwards and away from the point of rubbing.

The logic behind running a 7.5mm or 8mm spacer is to gain a bit or clearance to the fender which will net me .5* positive camber gain which keeps the DD tire wear down. Currently running -3.0* the way you see it. It only rubs on large "highway dips", something that would fully compress & shock the suspension abruptly. I maybe hear this once or twice per week, never experienced it on track etc and it's essentially hitting a section of the plastic liner which I decided against trimming. Taking the natural selection route on that one Quote:
Next is the 9.5" et43 to try up front. It's what I have out back, so I can start to test fitment before going ahead with the square config. I would run 255 square on the 9.5" wheels in this case, if it works out. 265 w/ 9.5 would be very tight, imo D

235/40/18 and 275/35/18 on 228i xdrive
Decided to try my 18x8.5 et45 / 18x9.5 et62 Apex Arc-8s out on my F22. They fit great with my stock suspension. No rubs at all yet and fitment looks great IMHO.
Tires are Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 which run a little narrow so I think that's how I got the 275s to fit. Running 5mm spacer on rear so effectively have an et57 offset. This set is off my 1er. Update - 11MAR20 - Been using it for a few days now with mixed driving. Not a single rub yet
