Does anyone *know* if TSW Interlagos 17x8 +35 wheels will fit over the M Sport brakes that came with the Track Handling package? Unlike Tire Rack, the TSW fitment guide doesn't ask about the brakes and I have yet to find contact info (other than the automated "find a dealer" number).

I'm looking to find some 17s for my upcoming M235i. Gonna go for the square set up for the winters. I am hoping to find some BMW OE or Replicas that will fit. Gonna want to keep it stock looking as much as possible. Any one out there with 17" wheels from like the 1 or 3 series installed?

Noticed BBS has a new SX that looks pretty nice. Avail in gloss black.

I wonder if those specs (rim size & offset & tires) would fit the M235i with the M performance brakes being bigger..........

Tire rack lists the Kosei 17x8 as working for the M235i but not the OZ wheels I have. Considering the fact they have a 42 offset I would think they would work but worth calling and asking.

BMW E36 17x7.5, 17x8.5 OEM Staggered LTW Original Rims
I have a full set of OEM LTW rims from well, my M3 LTW.
Trying to fit these on a 228i with Track Package upgraded brakes I read carefully, and it seemed logical that their 40 offset was OK, and people had used 17's in 8.5 in the back with offset 40 successfully with 255/40, my target for rear snows. (I had a set of un-mounted 255/40 R17 practically new lying around, as well as a set of 225/45 R17's for the fronts, tho, those were mounted on wrong offset (20) rims from a friend.) NOPE. The M3 LTW OEM rims do not clear the rear caliper sufficiently. There is about 2 hairs worth of clearance, and certainly not for the inner row of weights placed in that usual location. Didn't bother to check the front, the rim's inner shape precludes its use. Bummed.

Sorry for reviving a dead thread but I've been looking into getting a new set for this spring, as a blew out a rear in my last set. Was looking to up the sidewall to compensate for shitty Toronto roads, and looks like the best way to fit more sidewall is to have less Rim. Would 17x8 et35 sq work for a rwd setup (with spacers ofc) ? Ideally I'd like 235/45 in the front and 255/40 in the back. Would that fit those rims and my stock suspension? Thanks in advance!!

17" summer set up
Here is my current 17" summer set of wheels and tires. Other than my stock wheels and tires, the other three sets are all "square" with the same size wheels and tires all around.
Wheels = 17x8 et 43 Signature forged monoblock Tires = 245/40ZR-17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S In this image, I am running 3mm spacers on the front wheels. It works fine without the spacers. 40mm is a good offset all around. 8" width wheels are better fr a square set up than 8.5". The are no camber adjustments and no wheel well modifications. Wheels weigh 16 lbs without tires. I haven't gotten around to putting my winters on this season for this vehicle. These tires are not optimal in snow/ice. Tires have been great otherwise. |

Looks awesome, and that's some ridiculous added lightness where it counts the most!
I'll be trying a very ambitious 17x9et42 square setup with forged Apex Arc8-R's and 255/40R17 RE71Rs for a wide and light track setup. Hoping I'll get them this week or the next. |

No suspension, camber or body modifications. All stock.
My square set ups are: 17 x 8 and also have 18 x 8. 8" is the best width for a square set. 17 x 9 will be problematic in the front. 17 x 8.5 will be challenging with wider tires. |

Vorschlag camber plates set to at least 2.5 deg, 5mm spacer for front, inner fender lip rolled if needed.
Nugget and Dradernh are also on 17x9's in front so it's possible. Dylan86 is running 18x9 in front and is trying to fit 9.5's even...albeit with more aftermarket parts to work around. In the rears, it should poke the same as the common 18x9.5et58 + spacer setup that Apex recommends, with additional inner clearance. Keep in mind, I haven't actually fitted this yet. Apex confirmed that the wheels have arrived stateside but they haven't been shipped yet. Hopefully they'll be here this week or next. I'm hoping everything will be ready with plenty of time to spare before the SCCA Starting Line school in CA the weekend of March 7th. I'll post pics (hopefully showing they fit) as soon as I get everything set up.

They fit exactly milimeter perfect at 2.4 deg Front camber with the 5mm spacer. At least when they're static. Hard to predict if they'll rub when dynamic at full lock under compression. I didn't drive on them because it was unsafe: (1) way too cold outside and I didn't want to damage the rubber when it's brittle, and (2) running the 5mm spacer definitely requires extended lugs, the stock ones weren't fully engaged. The car goes in for a 75mm Apex stud conversion on Thursday.
They clear the rear brakes by mere milimeters. I'm pretty sure this would only work with the forged Arc8-R fetlaturing a revised barrel shape. Others have had interference with the brake pad vibration dampers that required trimming when trying to fit the flow-formed Arc8.
