Hmm.... i always travel with my EDC Spyderco knife. Just fly with it in my checked bag. I guess it's not illegal in NYC. I didn't realize i was going to have to go through a metal detector to get into the 9/11 memorial. But they brought someone up, took my knife in a box and gave me a check ticket like i dropped off some dry cleaning. Picked it up on the way out. They didn't seem to mind.

Make sure you keep it lubricated during sharpening as you stroke it along a stone. Never dry rub.

Nice! Looks awesome. I like how they tapered the handle down at the end on the 2nd gen version. And you'll like the ambidextrous pocket clip. Left, right, blade up, blade down, how ever you want it. And the clip lets it sit deep in your pocket. Not very noticeable.

I have the digi camo with black blade. I can't imagine how much better they can make the blade over the s30v. The M4 must be spectacular. I've had mine for 2 years now and it's still super sharp without sharpening. I use it every day as well, mostly on cardboard.
