Not only are you good with your badging choice, I'm a bit jealous to be honest. I got to do BMW M track day at Sonoma last year and did 8 laps in the M5. All that power and handling is lost on my for day-to-day driving, but I still have a smile painted on my face after that experience. What a ride!

The fact that these badges are real somehow makes things worse than if someone had just slapped these fake badges on their corolla...

Toyota Corolla "Nurburgring Special Edition"..... with a vicious 1.8L I4 churning out a ball slapping 138 hp. Mated to a beastly CVT and powering the front wheels. And all the Nurburgring badging to make sure everyone knows what you're packing.

I mean, first thing that comes to mind when I think of the Nurburgring is a Toyota Corolla.

But, I guess it makes sense..

Yeah I mean.... I wouldn't mock it quite so heavily if they added an intake/tune/exhaust and dropped a proper transmission into it. But it's so typical of Toyota to do nothing other than a few suspension tweaks, slap some badges on it, and call it a special edition.

It might not be a BMW, but I did find a rare C300 AMG in the wild.

If you all think the US has a badge problem, wait until you visit Italy. I saw 4 fake badged //M cars to a single real one during my visit

I think the other reality is that some people have their non-M cars tuned, sometimes to similar power levels as real M cars and think that means they can justifiably put an M badge on their car. Despite disagreeing with the principle regardless, most people don't understand that 'M' is more than just a power upgrade anyway.

Isn't BMW guilty of this as well?

No, BMWs not guilty of slapping badges on stuff?

BMW slaps "M" on anything they can. Mini van looking crossovers and SUVs and all in between. More then Mercedes with AMG or Audi with "S Line".

This is coming from a non fan boy perspective. I just call it as I see it.

No it's not the same thing. The nurburgring edition corolla is a "special edition".

Special edition BMW's come with serious performance enhancements. I'm not talking about slapping an m badge. This isn't a corolla with random TRD badging... this is a "nurburgring edition". So when you say isn't bmw guilty of the same thing... no they're not. And this is also coming from a non fan boy.
