How out would the figures be? Also is it still safe to install and use as same time as the tune? Eg s1 bms or RC ultimate? |

what I heard is that the obd2 will compete for bandwidth with the tune to talk to the ecu... so it might be that in some cases you are slowing down the tune talking to the ecu because of the obd2 app but I can't really say for sure this is true.... but it makes sense that there is a limited amount of bandwidth and 2 things running will be slower than 1 makes sense? |

Gentlemen, I just install the RaceChip Ultimate module on my M235i. I disconnected the battery as suggested before installing the unit. I have two silly questions,
The car is telling me to set the time and date but when I go to the setting screen, the mode is set to something like auto time ..... The other is, my M235i no longer blinks the turn signals when I activate the alarm. Do you guys know where can I find the way to set that setting? Last edited by jmr0311; 03-31-2015 at 07:07 PM.. |

I suggest always disconnecting the battery on the installation of any tune

I found where in the BMW iDrive I do the changes to those settings. Thanks very much for the words of advice.
I haven't took her to the edge yet, just waiting few more miles before doing so but the car kind of feels faster in all modes. I don't have a "High Flow" intake, so do you guys think that I should be cautious about not pushing her too hard. |

I increase just for testing purpose to see how and where it feels better and looking at my MPG etc. Your location of the RC unit has me worried though!

I have for sale a brand new, never installed racechip ultimate for the M235i. I'm willing to sell it for $625 shipped if anyone is interested.

Seeing manhart looks like the speed-buster box and just like the ActiveAutowerke box seems solid to me. Same numbers manhart has for racechip too. Congrats we shall meet soon since we're both in NYC

ROBNYC,
I missed to notice that you had some concerns on the locations I choose to install the Race Chip. Would you mind sharing your concern if you don't mind me ask you? and in your opinion where it will be the best place for it. |

I'll get my new M235 this week. I had the BMW stage 1 on my X3 which required airbox removal to install the tune. Is airbag removal needed for the M235, or just pop off engine cover to expose wires?
Thanks

I can jump in on this one. Please get the RC box away for the direct engine heat. Either mount it under the vent on the drivers side, or you can zip tie it to the fuse box top like I did. Too much plastic to be putting right up next to the engine IMO.
