Thanks. I have a deposit down on an M2 convertible (been a convertible guy from the start) but been getting mixed signals in the press and on blogs whether there actually will be a convertible M2 model. If anyone sees or hears more please post. Thanks

Many dealers are more than happy to take your money. I know someone who put down a $1,000 deposit on a 2012 1M Coupe. The dealer kept telling him they "might" do another production run, despite the fact that BMW executives were saying "no no no".

If there is to be an M2 Gran Coupe , then take it as a sign there will be an M2 Cabrio.

You know, the more I look at these pictures, the more I think that it looks too big to me. I wonder if that's the angle or something...
One thing I love about the current 1 series is that it is smaller than the E9X 3 series, and by a decent amount. I don't think I will be interested in the 2 if it just looks like a slightly smaller 4 - the 1er was always unique in looks and that was one of the things I have loved about it

There could be some things on the coming 2 Series that I don't care for, such as "stop/start", electric steering, etc. I am very happy with the feel of the current 135 in manual tranny, MSport form. Same reasoning as you, putting fun back into driving.

Looks very promising. May have to look at a vert when they are available in Aus.

In answer to your question about deposit my dealer accepted a $200 deposit on M2 convertible at a price to be negotiated but not above MSRP (no premiums for me by God) and fully refundable if car not made. Also entitled to first M2 convertible of dealer's allotment to my specs. Costs less than a big night on the town and fully refundable...no downside. I missed out on a 1M coupe by being too late...not this time if an M2 convertible is made.

New pictures of 2 series
With all the news of the 4series coming out for sale, think I like the 2 Series better. Will wait until then.

Waiting time
Hej guys, newbie here in this forum although not when it comes to visiting this great site.
There was an interesting observation I made the other day, and with regard to waiting, I think I know when they will unveil the M235i: 03/13/13 ------> The photo shoot leak out on spot of the BMW 4 series 06/14/13 ------> The official unveiling of the BMW 4 series When BMW went out to photo shoot the 4 series, they did it in the middle of the week, in the middle of the month. When they unveiled the car, they did it at the end of the week, in the middle of the month, on Friday. With that logic in hand, I came up with this: 05/15/13 ------>The photo shoot leak out on spot of the M235i (fact) 08/16/13 ------> The official unveiling of the BMW M235i?? What do you guys think?
