I'm thinking maybe just an M license plate frame. I like the trunk lid spoiler.

Isn't it a bit of an insult to Infiniti by saying the competitors are the CLA, A3 and Q60?
I always thought the q60 was targeted as a 3 series (4 series) competitor

a) Estoril blue on black interior
b) Mineral gray on red interior It's gonna be a tough choice !! At least 6MT over 8AT is a no brainer.. I'm one of few people glad there are no DCT option. Makes my decision to stick with 6MT that much easier |

Now, I too have raised the question of whether or not the production schedule will be altered - they aren't announcing pricing or options on Friday. Just pics of the car. If they are to start building this thing in a few weeks, how in the world can all of that be true. Makes no sense to me - I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic.

Anyone else notice the #newBMWX5?.. I thought it was a M235i
And are they even making a M2 or will this be it? (Sort of like the Z4is) |

No confirmation of the M2 yet. If it does happen, it will be a few years away, according to SCOTT26...but he has been wrong before

TY for the pics. Nice to see.
Can someone tell me who stages an event where the car is stuck under a tent so nobody can see it, and then lets people take pics that end up on the web? Am I just being too, too cynical?

Apparently, an interview witht he head of M said that he would like to, as they already have the engine, and that they already have the suspension...so, hhhhhmmm what does that mean?

I just HATE seeing BMW branding now ///M to any model now.
Just like AMG that brands every MB crap they do, just because has a body kit or wheels. BMW should keep ///M exclusive to 1M, M3, M4, M5, M6, X5M, X6M and maybe an M2. But for te love of God NO M235 :-/

If this thing really is going to be available early next year, it's decision time between this or the 2014 FR-S Monogram Series.
Too bad this isn't the M2; that would have made the decision much easier... |

The side gills/creases (which was originally designed to be open like the air curtains but left unopen due to technical problems and lack of time), rear bumper with fake vents also mimicing the previous themes. And finally, in the case of M4/M3 and if there will be a M2 I am sure in M2 too, the significantly wide fenders that give the 1M its particular and athletic stance. Interesting thing is I needed to (am asked to) list down and remind these stuff. Aren't these obvious? They are discussed widely when the M4 prototype was made public as far as I remember. Of course, these cars don't look like 1M by the way, they are brand new platforms. I just said and meant that there are "some" design themes either repeated or merely re-interpreted in these new models. There is nothing wrong that BMW re-uses certain elements that worked well and received well before. Despite its old school looks I believe 1M is going to age well because it also introduced a few cool elements that become common now and also because it has a great, aggresive stance, like a pitbull terrier which is not at all a bad thing for a small M car. M cars do not need to be elegant or pretty or classy looking, I really think that they should just look simple, clean and aggressive, the same way that all little M coupes (Z3, Z4 -also pretty Z4- and 1M) looked. They can make a very good looking M2 out of this though, preferably with a simpler interior with exclusive details. It really is going to be a huge mistake not to offer a M2, that is the bottomline for me.
