Plenty on this forum. On my 2015 they slid right out. My 2018 had a little work involved. Took the cap off and squeezed a clip or two to pull out. Forgive me for no details. It was a wile ago and my brain is overworked this week.

I took mine out yesterday for the first time in two months (can't believe it's really been that long). It was a beautiful, 80°, sunny day, and I washed it before putting it away.
Its next outing is in two weeks at Mid-Ohio, my first track event of the year.

I flashed Bootmod3 and took it for a spin. Even the stage 1 map is a very noticeable. Now I just need to wait for the rain to let up so I can really open it up a bit. In the wet, the removal of the torque limits in some gears makes it almost too easy to lose traction, which makes me think I may want to flash back to stock for winter.

Last weekend I installed Dinan springs on the rear axle only of my M235. I also did the Dinan rear spring spacers so the drop wasn't so aggressive and also did the bumpstop kit. I did the rear axle only because:
1) I've always felt the rear axle pogoed around way too much. The Dinan springs add 30% more rate and have a 1" drop without the spacers and around a 3/4" drop with the spacer. 2) I thought the rear gap was a bit excessive in stock form. 3) I like the look of cars like the 1M or older M cars where the rear wheel gap is tighter than the front. The Dinan springs achieved this. The front gap (still stock), is about 2 fingers and the rear gap is barely 1 finger after about one week of settling. Most of the settling occurred on day 1. 4) I didn't do the front springs because they only add 10% more stiffness and 1/2" drop. I didn't want the drop and I've never had issues with the front axle except for too much understeer and the lack of camber killing the tire shoulders. I've addressed this by running 245/35s up front. It doesn't fix the camber issue, but the tires have much stiffer sidewalls and there's a ton more lateral tread now. I am astounded in how much more controlled the rear axle is now. I had no idea the rear springs were so bouncy. The car feels more stable, far less pogoing, less roll, more steering directness, and just a better ride. The car in Comfort mode feels very acceptable too and much more sporty. It's crazy to me the difference. I'll be writing a thread in the suspension forum soon.

Any new advice on how to remove those impossible to remove rear headrests?
Just did it on my month old 2019 m240i vert this week. At first they didn't seem to budge, but found that if I rocked the headrest side to side while pulling they eventually popped out. |

Thanks, I tried again with your technique but no luck. I can't get them to move at all. Maybe I need to increase my work-out routine. |

Before. Stock springs. After. Dinan springs, rear only. Stock front springs.

So my car was in for its first service today and I asked them to remove the headrests. It was done no problem, but it took two techs, one on each side of the headrest pulling together to remove each one. So I don't feel so bad that I failed. But what a great difference for visibility and looks so much better! BTW they just received two of the new Z4's, one 4 and one 6 cylinder - they are beautiful, much better than the photos show! The 6 was a matt metallic grey, very nice paint. |

I've seen the Z4 in person and honestly not a fan. I want to see the Supra in person.
I'm generally a fan of the newer BmWs too. The 3 is a little big for me but very nice looking. The 8 series is breathtaking.
