F22 SLG 340 to 380mm brake adapter fitment issues

I've tried to install the Seems Legit Garage front brake adapter to upgrade my front brakes from 340 to 380mm, but during install of the wheel found significant clearance issues (it is a Titan7 Ts5 18x8.5 et44 wheel, and they did not fit under the stock 18" wheels either). Upon measurement, I found the SLG adapter spaces the calipers out significantly more than necessary, about 23mm instead of 20mm as expected. This causes interference and now I am unfortunately needing to return my car to stock and find a new adapter for my car.

Hopefully my experience will be of some use to somebody else considering this bracket.

Kern417 on YouTube also makes adapters, mine fit inside stock wheels with a spacer, it's very tight though, I have to remove the anti rattle things from the brake pads.

Good information. I was considering SLG just because the build quality looks much better thank the Kern units, and doesn't require the new bushings that kern uses.

I'd wager if you use the bushings from Kern's setup with those SLG brackets it'd work fine.

Now I'll definitely be going with Kern's option.

JB am i correct in remembering you went through the work to do the rear parking brake mods too?

Yep, that's me, I copied another guy who figured out how to make the e brake work with some fab work

I bought the SLG kit because the build quality looked better and the slightly easier install. Now I'm buying Kern's kit for my second attempt. I'll report back how the install goes for that one.

Welp I'm going to copy you in turn! I don't even use my parking brake but I just cannot justify deleting it.

Moon, are you going to attempt SLG bracket with kern bushings or just do Kern's whole kit?

I realized I never closed out this thread. To recap, the kit from kern fit and requires about 3mm less clearance than the kit from SLG, which with 18" wheels is the difference between fitting and rubbing.
