BMW F22 Retofitting HK Harman Kardon Subwoofer to HIFI System
Hi BP community,
I wanted help/advice on a DIY project for my F22 M240XI in upgrading from a HIFI sound system to a HK sound system. I was able to upgrade my speakers all around the car using some used OEM HK speakers. However, I came across some trouble installing the Hk Harman Kardon under seat subswoofers for both the driver and passenger seats. I attempted to connect the subwoofer for the passenger side but it looks like the connector is inverted or simply not identical to the ones on the stock HIFI subwoofers. I mistakenly even damaged the connector from the harness and now need to fix the plastic connector. Has anyone found the best solution for this? I can also get an additional HK amplifier if needed, but if I can keep on the stock one then thats okay too. Point is that I have only one functioning HIFI subwoofer while the passenger one is not only unplugged due to the damaged connector, but due to the not-so-plug-and-play connecting ports on the HK subwoofers. If anyone had a similar experience, let me know what you guys did to fix this to get both the HK subwoofers up and running. Thanks! |
