This post is for those that enjoy working on their BMW’s and have taken on the challenge of changing out their front differential.
I have a 2016 BMW M235i Xdrive with 80k miles and as mentioned my front differential went out and wanted to see from responses just how hard this will be. I tried looking up YouTube videos and found no videos for a M235i but did find other BMW and I take it its a similar process. Has anyone out there replaced their own front differential ? Any challenges you faced and duration of this job. It’s either tackle this job or take it to a shop to get it done. I’ve purchased the Diffy already. |

should be a similar process to an f30, which is a far more common car and is more likely to have a video on it.
It all depends on two things for me, how comfortable you feel about taking on the job, and if you have the tools for the job. If you don't have the tools, does it costs more to buy the tools, or take it to the shop? |
