Wondering if any others have noticed this…..
Seems like something pointed is pushing from the inside when folded. Mentioned to BMW service the last two times, they noted it and suggested showing it to a factory rep when he or she visits….. Probably will perforate right after the extended warranty expires next year 2019 M240i |

Hmmm, I have 45k miles on my 2019, but no marks like that.
I do have a fairly big crease above my rear window; the car came like that when I purchased it at 26k miles from an out of state BMW dealer and I didn't notice in the pictures. I brought it to my local dealer's attention and they acted interested at first, however, they did nothing but string me along for a month or two. Might as well play their game while you still have some warranty though, maybe you'll have better luck than me.

I have a 2016 with 72k miles. I raise and lower my top as much as possible, several times a day usually (until the snow flies). No marks like the OP. I would say that looks like a problem and if you're under warranty, insist they identify the cause and correct it. As for wrinkles, it's a convertible. It's going to have wrinkles unless you never lower it.

Not normal - and I have daily driven converts since 1978. I would not wait for anybody on that. You should be able to figure it out by feeling/looking under those spots.

And DON'T leave it half open for a long time as it can cost you much more...
Worst case let the top half open sit on a solid object to support his weight. Curious, was your top grey or black?, or is it the camera flash that make it looks like a pre-wash pair of jeans... Mine still looks dark black, but is always garage kept. Last edited by qlaval; 11-07-2023 at 03:57 PM.. |
