M Performance front splitter removal
Hello, has anyone installed the M Performance front splitter without the tape? Asking as I’m considering doing this so that I can easily remove it during the winter

it wouldn't be secure without the tape. Using double sided tape still makes it removable. Unless you're using BMW's betalink then I think you're fine.

I tried a bit and it seemed like it would be way too much work, and theres a chance the bumper was scuffed when applying the glue crap by the dealer. (the middle piece was broken off when i bought the car)
So i gave up on removing the remaining parts and wrapped them instead: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=2027577 |

From personal experience I can say that I don’t want to go through the hassle of removing the adhesive each winter; it’s a pain in the ass and the risk of damaging the paint increases each time.
I currently have the splitter from Lightweight on, and that mounts with screws only. Granted, it has far more screws than the OEM MP splitter. Of note, the smashed MP splitter that was replaced by the Lightweight splitter was installed using the adhesive, but the adhesive had peeled away from the splitter. |
