With the changes I made to my car in the suspension dept - it really handles well on curvy mountain roads. I've tracked it once and it was great, very responsive on the twisty bits. Once I upgrade the brakes I'll track it more.

"Once I upgrade the brakes I'll track it more"
Could be money spent elsewhere if you have not tried pads, fluid and cooling. I'm leaning toward coil overs one minute then springs. My camber plates were ordered today. Went with Vorshlag, looks like they can work with OEM perches and with the b14 Bilstein. |

I have upgraded pads, fluid already since the car is not a dedicated track car I am not cutting body panels to install cooling. I've done a reasonable number of driving schools as well so I know about braking zones and trail braking etc. Fact is these cars are heavy and on twisty mountain roads the amount of air flow on the stock brakes cannot cool enough for a really curvy road.

Unfortunately, cooling of 2 Series brakes with ducted air isn't really an option. I worked at it a bit, and these were my results: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1670372.

Update; I have ordered Vorshlag camber plates, MMR sump baffle and new tires/wheels. 18x9 square 255/35/18. Firestone Indy 500's. Very inexpensive with more drivability on the street than the R888 or similar tire. Great performance for the money. Next is the suspension; it looks like "coding" out the EDC saves a fair amount of money.
What is the downside to coding vs buying EDC lockout hardware? |

There's no point comparing those two tires; they're made to do different things.

Nice upgrades, however the Indy 500s are the weak point in your upgrades.

They are not the best. They do allow me to drive to work. I will be keeping an eye out for used R compounds in the future.
Hard to beat from a price perspective. Looking at coil overs - none state the spring rates? They are blind purchases unless all you want is a lower car. |

If that sounds at all attractive, good luck following the formula. Ask me how I know! Among the most impressive sights I recall seeing at a driving event was a young woman wheeling a stock Toyota Corolla around Loudon, a pure handling track, and not a particularly nice one. However she got out there, someone understood the fundamental problem inherent in wishing to go faster. Read: it's not about the car.

There addresses the two issues, one is the building. Hard to resist. The other is about the skill of the driver. I'm not Fangio. |

Since one-size-fits-all spring rates aren't going to work for every driver, ask the manufacturer/seller if they offer the option for you to choose your rates. Of course, first you'll need to know what rates you want.

And, as dradernh said, your friendly local race shop would be happy to advise on custom options. They're cheap and trivial to swap. Last edited by msendit; 08-02-2021 at 11:03 PM.. |

Any links on the wheels? What about the PSS system you ran?

I installed the Bilstein coil overs. B14? I installed the ones that do not have the electronic control. I found a guy on this forum that was able to remove the error code for it.
The wheels are made by Fast. 18x9 square. Apex spacers, and studs. I was not very impressed by the build quality of the studs. Can’t remember who made the camera plates, expensive though. |
