My 2016 is inching closer. Up to almost 72k miles now. Still no major issues to talk about. It's been very reliable so far.

Did I see you today where Indian Hill meets Madeira at the intersection of Miami Rd and Shawnee Run Road?

If not, I saw an identical new M240i sitting next to me at the light. With the new rear end, I had to check the badge to be sure exactly which model I was looking at.

My 215 235 is about to reach 60K miles and my driving has decreased quite markedly since COVID. Wish me luck in reaching 100K. I certainly have no interest in replacing it.

I suggest a nice, long road trip. Where is it you've always wanted to go? And what is the long way to get there? Drive it and enjoy!

I'm at 94k miles. Will probably hit 100k by end of year. (I drive a lot even though I work close by)

I bought it at 74k miles. So far, I have done:

maintenance:
-Chargepipe
-Coolant over flow hose (preventative)
-Belt & Tensioner (preventative)
-Tail light wiring harness
-Cabin air filter
-oil changes every 7k-8k miles

Mods :

-chargepipe
-intake
BM3 Stg 1 tune

Has been super reliable. Love this thing!

14’ 138,000 miles. N55 Just replaced original clutch and suspension. FBO stage 2 since 10,000 miles. Regular maintenance. Spark plug at 120k. Vavle cover gasket. Oil housing gaskets. Still using original coils. Changed a few driver side inner tie rods. Otherwise very reliable. Replaced coolant tank before

Just hit 40k. No issues. I change the oil every 4k miles. I’ve had several BMWs over the years. I had an e90 n54 335 and put 137,000 miles on it. I hit a deer on Christmas night a couple of years ago and totaled it otherwise I would still be driving it.

Is the oil pan gasket, alternator, and rad original?

221,000 kilometers. 2016 (built in 2015) m235i manual. That would be 137,000 miles.

My 2018 m240 has 20k miles. No more warranty people tell me once your BMW is out of warranty be prepared for big $ repairs and reliability issues. Should I listen or ignore them ?
Like the car and the next generation 2 series is not as fun to me.

My 2016 has 78k miles and nothing has gone wrong yet. At 20k miles, you're barely broken in. Don't worry, just get out there and drive.

At the rate I'm going, I'll never get there. During the past six months, I've put a grand total of 260 miles on the car. Winter and no planned road trips, you see.

I do so enjoy it when I'm out and about in it, though. That will never change.

Here's my 2014 M235i rolling over 100k.

Not a single problem yet but I have done all the preventative maintenance required. And this is the first car I have had without a shifter since 1970 and frankly I don't miss it.

Oh, no worries on the planning part!

At present, the next trip looks like it will be to the Ozarks east of Fayetteville, AR. I lived for a couple of years in NW Arkansas in the early 70s and briefly in Little Rock a few years later. While a resident there, I drove quite a few of the roads between Fayetteville and Mountain Home and would like to enjoy them again for the first time since 2003. The M240 will be right at home in that region.
