F22 Subwoofer Signal for Trunk/Boot Subwoofer

Hi everyone,

I plan to install an active subwoofer in the trunk of my F22 as I am not very happy with the underseat subwoofers and new ones are a lot more expensive than some used subwoofer for the trunk.

Now, power shouldn't be an issue as I can access the battery right in the trunk, but I'm not sure from where I should get the signal. My guess would be to take the signal cable from the underseat subs and extend it to the trunk. As I understand subs usually have only one channel, but is that also the case for the underseats subs, since there is one on both sides?

I still have the factory amp and head unit, but as the sub has its own amp that shouldn't be a problem right?

Does anyone know if it's a good idea to take the signal from the underseat subs?
I'm still somewhat new to this topic, so if I am completely wrong with my idea advice would be very appreciated.

Thank you very much!

Check out technic pnp add-a-sub harness. It’s a plug and play harness. I have it and it makes installing a sub in the trunk a breeze!
