Hey All,
Interesting numbers to look at here, with some hypothetical opinions sprinkled in. Hopped into configuration for the BM3 S2+ tune and adjusted a few goodies: -Reduced burble length to refine the decel. And not sound ricey. (What a change, sounds more exotic) -Added in the GTS roar (people have to know its starting…) Then the topic of discussion… MAX COOLING ENABLED. As a background the Max cooling mode keeps fans on as well as other adaptations I am unaware of at this point. That said, under normal driving conditions Engine Oil temp would sit pretty stead at 223*F and engine temp very similar. With max cooling mode engaged both temps sat around 172*F. Thats around a 20% decrease in both engine an oil temps. Which for summer driving, keeps things inside the engine happy! Or not? After debating this, and theorizing; it can also cause prolonged and unnecessary strain on the cooling systems. Post your thoughts, or any data points for discussion! |

You want your oil to heat up enough to evaporate moisture in it, otherwise sludge forms quicker. 172F under constant driving is too cool.

Thank you for the feedback, had turned that feature off pretty quickly there after due to this exact thought. Only plausible for use on the track. |

Not a performance Mod, but tossed on the Mcarkit, type C carbon fiber front lip this weekend.
Must say it fits like a glove, very impressive with Amazon on this one. Costs $200 less than the other site that showed the same product photos. The shipping did take a month, that was a downside. They also did not capture the payment until the item shipped a few weeks after the initial purchase. That was frustrating as well, but a minor inconvenience. |

Finally getting back to the Dyno tomorrow to get E50 numbers on BM3 Stage 2+.
This will have a massive inlet and new intake on from the last time as well. However if you follow this post, low fuel inhibited a good read. Also finally got a Front Lip on the car. This is the C-style by MCarKit from Amazon. Review and install link below. |

NUMBERS ARE IN!
460WHP/530WTQ This is on a perfect 50% Ethanol mix on the newest revision of BM3 Stage 2+ This is only using the TU pump Power maxed out at ~5,500 RPM, showing the choke at the turbo… which you know what that means. Most likely will close out this year with maintenance (plugs, coils, fluid flushes, ETC) then on to Hybrid and stage 2 HPFP next season. |

Been a long cold winter, but back at it again with the M240i build.
We recently installed the 6” downpipe! Here are some sound clips, and yes it really did help the note. Next step is the full 3.5” mid and rear section. https://youtube.com/shorts/D55g95Xqt...q4HK_TFLipLTQF |
