Towing hitch retrofit
hello,
was anyone able to retrofit the original towing hitch on the active tourer? Does someone eventually have the material list and instructions? thanks, Stefan |

Quite easy retrofit if you buy towing hitch from scrapyard vehicle Then buy wiring kit from BMW: 71602359385 You also need AAG control unit. But before you start, make sure you check if you have right BDC version. Read more here: https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/b...#post-13852326 Attached pdf for X1 which is more or less the same principle, ask your dealer for correct pdf. While installing I found that my rear bumper didn’t have any rear heat isolation attached. So I bought a new part with slot for towing hitch. You can also choose to cut your current one. I am talking part C from the Instructions pdf. Use realoem to find correct part for your vehicle. Edit: note I also had to buy the addon fuseholder. I didnt upgrade the fan as I live in cold climate and only use the towing hitch occasionally so I figured it should be fine. Last edited by mrpingu; 08-26-2023 at 07:54 AM.. |

Otherwise you won’t see the AAG module. Then let the car sleep and then proceed to flash/factory code the AAG unit. |
