Car keeps saying 3100 miles to next service
It has been saying it for hundreds of miles. Any ideas what it's trying to tell me? Or what it's not telling me?
Thanks! |

Ah, further research seems to think it's common, has something to do with brake service vs oil service. I guess I'll just wait to see if I ever drive that far.

It is an over-aggressive calculation of pad wear on the 2-series, leading to it stuck at 5,000km of pad wear remaining (3,100 being the nearest miles conversion), it will only start counting down when the wear sensor triggers, which can be a long time as the estimated distance to replace the pads seems to be half to a third of the actual distance.

That is actually a separate maintenance countdown, there are 3 all together related to the brakes - fluid flush (time and distance related), front brake pad wear (distance related) and rear brake pad wear (distance related). The stuck at 5,000km / 3,100 miles countdown relates to the pad wear countdowns.

Bimmerlink app has the option to reset all service counters right? I've seen like 3-4 of them on there last time I checked..
