Help with replacement wheels
Hello all! I have a 2020 M240i xDrive coupe. I custom ordered the car but got the wrong wheels, which I have been forever salty about. I am finally getting around to replacing the wheels with the ones I want, however, I am kind of confused about the stock wheel size for the xDrive model. The tires on my actual car are a square 225/40/18 set up, but the user manual only lists front 225/40/18 and rear 245/35/18. When I look online, it seems like I have found information for both set ups in the xDrive model. Can the xDrive model ship out from the factory with both options?
Additionally I have looked into it and for xDrive models the total wheel diameter is supposed to be less than 1% difference, however the above staggered set up has a 1.2% difference. Is that difference okay for this model? For reference, I am planning to buy the 719M wheel in the machine polished finish. I'm trying to find out if I should just buy a square set up of 4 7.5 inch wheels or go for the 7.5s in the front and 8s in the rear. Thank you for the help. |

Hi,
The 225/40 set-up on 7.5 wide wheels was the All Weather tire option while the staggered 225/40 - 245/35 set up on 7.5 - 8 inch wheels was the summer only tire option. The difference must be OK as this is as BMW sold it. You could even go 8 inch F+R (with a spacer to "correct" the ET) and put 245/35 square or 235/40 on it. |
