Adding paddle shifter on 228i xdrive
Hi guys,
I have recently purchased a 228i xdrive, 8 speed automatic, from 2016. The car got a premium essential package and a M Track Package. However I am utterly disappointed that it didn't come with paddle shifter. My question is, does the vehicle have the infrastructure to take paddle shifter. Would it be a straight forward operation, like plug and play type of thing to add paddle. My local retailer sell OEM paddle from 3 series, wonder if they could fit on mine. Thanks for your answers. But others swear by the paddles so to each his own. I just wouldn't spend a lot for them. |

definitely no chance such thing happened. I believe there are few model out there that come without paddle shifter.
Apparently the Steptronic Automatic Transmission, doesn't come with paddle. |

I do not use them, but my son loves them
I have a 2015 bmw 228i with paddle shifters and I never use them. However my 20 year old son (who also drives boxster s manual) loves using them and always says he is surprised how fast they shift.
