Cigarette lighter plug?

I have to store my 2020 M240i for the summer and would like to use a CTEK 3300 trickle charger to keep the battery charged using the cigarette plug. But I'm not sure if the cig plug stays live indefinitely. Any info would be appreciated.

That’s not how it works

BMWs charge via the two posts under the hood, and never charge or jump directly at the battery. There are electronics to keep the electrical system safe only if you use the charging posts.
