G42 almost an entire second quicker than F22?
Im seeing reviews for the new M240i with a 3.6 0-60, it's a lot heavier and wider and everything else seems to be the same except for the additional 40hp.
My question is, how come Stage 1 m240s aren't even beating the stock G42? This doesn't make sense to me |

"the new car's gearbox gains shorter ratios for the first three gears, quicker shifts that are reminiscent of a dual-clutch unit's, plus launch-control functionality. This all adds up to a hellacious 3.6-second run to 60 mph and a 100-mph sprint in 9.1 seconds" Mystery solved?

You also need to factor the differences between the RWD and AWD F22's. The AWD is quicker zero to 60 than the RWD ones. Car and Driver claims the zero to 60 on the F22 (B58 motor) is 4.3 seconds which I think is referencing the RWD version of the car. I felt like I've seen some forum members on here with AWD ones getting zero to 60 times in the mid 3's but maybe those cars were modded? Either way I don't think there is a whole second difference in that metric between the cars but yes 40 more HP and AWD will scoot it a little faster than the RWD F22.
FWIW, I am not a fan of chasing zero to 60 and 1/4 mile times. That's for the stoplight racers. I like finding some twisty roads and sending the car near its limits.

0-60 is good for acceleration out of turns, but not worrying about straight line racing. Leave that to HellCats and others that you can't compete with. If you want speed, then tune it and realize the full potential of the B58 engine and enjoy! Just don't forget supporting mods to maximize the gains and so it safely
