M235i aftermarket wheel/tire fitment help please!
Hi guys,
I am new to this forum as I just purchased a 2015 M235i convertible (manual ). I am about to pull the trigger on a staggered set of BMW Style 71 wheels and a combination of Pirelli PZero tires and Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The specs are: Front Wheels: 18x8 ET47 Front Tires: Michelin PSS 245/35/18 Rear Wheels: 18x8.5 ET50 Rear Tires: Pirelli PZero 255/35/18 Based on everything I have read, these should fit easily without the need for spacers or anything special, right? Looking for confirmation as I am certainly no expert. Thanks!! |

Would the difference in ET offset affect anything? I have no idea how this stuff works, so I'm hoping the 4 mm or whatever it is won't cause any problems since XutvJet seemed to have plenty of space and no rubbing. |

Probably going to need spacers in the front. Test fit first if you can, then decide how much extra space you need.
Also, just curious why you are mixing tire brands? |

I'm doing the two separate tire brands b/c I found good deals on them in the exact sizes I'm looking for . I figure the rears will need to be replaced sooner than the fronts, so when that time comes I will replace them with MPSS and use them all around going forward. |

I put them on tonight and think the look killer! No scrubbing at all with 255x35x18 (18x8.5 ET 50) rears and 225x40x18 (18x8 ET47) fronts. Hopefully I will be able to run 245x35's on the front, but it will be tight given the high offset. We will see! Worst case scenario I have to use a small spacer.
The extra grip in the back was immediately noticeable and makes me want a tune even more... The wheels aren't perfect (clear coat starting to fade, few nicks and a little rash) so I will eventually get them refinished because of how much I like them and how much I think they suit the car. I'm surprised this isn't a "thing" with our cars given the near perfect specs. View post on imgur.com Last edited by dipaladle; 04-05-2023 at 11:02 PM.. Reason: link |
