Installed Lowering Springs, Upgraded Shocks, Camber Plates
I installed Koni Sport (Yellows), Dinan Springs and Millway Street Camber Plates last weekend. I also went ahead and deleted the EDC. It's a great budget setup for those who don't need adjustable ride height.
Just some things I've noticed after driving on them for a day. The shocks, even at 1/2 turn from full soft are stiffer than the stock. The car feels a lot more responsive now. I haven't gotten a proper alignment yet and have set the camber plate to 20mm of camber, I have now noticed a slight oversteer... which I was aiming for. I used e39 front bumpstops and f80 rear bumpstops, I think they are a perfect match for this suspension setup. Full review to come after 3k KMs with them. |

I had ordered a set of Dinan's Ride and Handling Kit. I found that the front bump stops were just rebranded E39 bumpstops. The rears did not fit onto the koni rear shock for me. The stock ones fit, but the dust boot was a bit too short. I stumbled upon a post by FaRKle! regarding bump stops here. I ended up returning the Dinan Ride and Handling kit and just ordering the bump stops separately. The dustboot on the f80 rear bumpstops are perfect for the koni rear shock. |

What did you use to delete the EDC? I lost my EDC deletion when the dealer updated the car's software and need it recoded.

Not at all, I usually am in sport + when weather permits and the car has warmed up anyways.

Finally an option that doesn’t look painfully expensive, yet capable. I like Koni shocks, I didn’t even think to look into them as an option for the F2x. Cool, Looking forward to reading more on how it’s going and how it does on track. Keep us posted

FWIW, Konis are what TC Kline builds his coilover kits around.

Other "track related" mods that I can think of: Stoptech Stainless Lines EBC Yellow Pads MHD Stage 2 91 Apex ARC 8 18x8.5 et 38 w Firehawk Indy 500 245/40/18 XHP Stage 3 KMAC Caster Bushing BMS Rear Diff Support MPerformance rear LSD Superpro or Powerflex (can't remember anymore) tranny mounts It felt good around the corners, I might have to tweak my rebound settings a bit as they kinda suck for daily driving lmao. Currently at the alignment shop to get some more toe out. I will have another track day on August 16th at the same track. My times are kinda bad because it's my first AWD car and I was driving it like it was RWD |

Thanks for the review! I don't know much about Mission Raceway but it looks like traffic was holding you up, that you weren't able to go deep into turns, stepping on the brakes and hard on the throttle on the exits but the track is is fairly short at 1.2M. Regardless it looks fun. I can't tell any noticable difference between the EDC comfort/sport settings on the street. I'd be curious if comfort/sport have any real difference in times on the track, I'm guessing they wouldn't. When my shocks go, this may be the way to go for me. Would you happen to have part number for the Konis front & rear? I've done the LCA/TS M3/4 upgrade which gives me about ~2° of camber but from what I've read you need more like 3° to avoid eating up tires. Millway street camber plates have been on my wishlist for a while. I'm at stock height, I have 235/40 18 in the front with the same wheel and on hard bumps they occasionally rub on the outer fender. With extra camber I'd like the try and fit 245/40s, lowering with Dinan I'm not sure how much camber that might require.

And do you have anymore info on the M-LSD? I was under the impression that the M-LSD didn’t work for Xdrive cars, because of the smaller ring gears that get placed in the X-Drive cars. I’d be ecstatic if we had the 215mm ring gear to work off of. Luis |

Koni Shock Part Numbers: Front Left: 8741 1591LSPOR Front Right: 8741 1591RSPOR Rear 2x: 8240 1298SPORT They are the same shocks that they recommend for the f30s. Just a reminder that I'm xdrive and I'm assuming that you're rwd because of the LCA/TS. I am not sure if the front 2 will work on rwd. I'll be going to ridge motorsports park in October (lot more ******* to really test it out. |

Also attached the images to this post. I can't say for sure that the ring gears are the same because I had a shop do the install for me. They didn't say anything to me and it works. It's also listed on the BMW parts catalog that the MLSD works with xdrive. I've also had a lot of friends message diffsonline about getting a custom LSD made using the stock diff and adding a wavetrac or quaife. |
