I think Max is still the product of Jos raising him even if he may be more similar to his mother in personality.

Exactly . MAX 's mom , Sophie Kumpen was a great racer as well , she raced against Jenson Button , Nick Heidfeld , Jarno Trulli and Giancarlo Fisichella .

Sophie prefers to stay out of the spotlights because she's shy .
Max has his mom's character and he's actually shy as well .

For Jos It's otherwise , he was for more than 12 years training MAX and 24/7 .
Jos was always 100% involved , and MAX has the aggressive drivers style from his dad .
MAX is always straight to the point and never fake . That part comes from his dad .
In the beginning MAX had difficulties to drive in the rain . That's why Jos forced MAX always to drive in heavy rain with used slicks .
MAX is the F1 WDC thanks to his dad ..

Verstappen's mother (Sophie Kumpen) is generally known to be a genuine kind woman, a sweet personality.

Max spent most of his youth with his father Jos, but remains very affectionate to his mother.

Analyst Jol Palmer says that's it's unlikely RB will set their sights on Checo in spite of what Horner said about Max not being 'Max Red Bull'. The Max/Chas duel is too close to call and even with Checo not far behind third in the points, making him catch up won't be in the frame with Ferrari's Sainz making less mistakes now.
