From a dig or from a roll? My buddy just picked up a Infiniti G37 awd with like 330 horsepower. He keeps talking about how powerful it feels and wants to line em up. From a roll he would be seeing taillights but from a dig I'm worried I wouldnt catch up until like 40 to 50mph with the crap traction I have.

From a roll first I put about a car and half on him, then we hit a red light and went from a dig and he took me off the line, awd vs rwd and my older Michelin super sports gave him the advantage for the first 60 feet I'd say, then I was rolling past him. If you can hook up on your launch I'd say you'll beat your friend off the line and keep pulling away. ( I can't launch this car to it's full potential with the my current tires)

Sure! Long live fiscal irresponsibility...

I shopped around and eventually found a German company that was $200 less all in:
https://paddleshifterz.com/product/g...v=7516fd43adaa

Because they got it to me for le$$ and only two days behind the radio panel I ordered from a U.S. company, I'll plug the rest of their stuff:
https://paddleshifterz.com/shop/?fil...v=7516fd43adaa

This was part of a project. I wrapped it into a radio panel exchange.
Previous owner must've used a CD-slot cellphone holder.

The slot was was all chewed up and I couldn't stand to look at it. If it wasn't for that, I doubt I would've gone for new trim.

While we are on the subject of spicy chicken sandwiches. If any of you are even in LA, Cali, there is a chain rest here called Holdaak that has a bomb spicy chicken sandwiches!

Started installing the MMR baffle on my M235i. Decided to check the rod bearings as well. While I was there, you know the deal.. 101k km on the car.

Going to order ACL Race bearings.

Holy cow! Assuming you track the car quite a bit? Any sign of rod knock with bearings this bad?

Just bought the car at 96k km. No track days for me, yet. No noises either, just figured I'd check the bearings while I was there.

Yes, it would be useful to hear how you've used the car, esp. any of these: tune, autocross, strip, track, time trials, stoplight grand prix, etc.

So, I have had the car for only about 5000 km, but there was no abnormal driving during my time. I changed the oil when I bought the car. I am using the BM3 Stage0+ (M2) tune with a Wagner catted DP (futureproofing). No ethanol.

The car had the original charge pipe when I got it, and it had become very brittle. I think it was original. Also, the DP clamps were stuck AF, so I think that this car has not been heavily tuned. At least it has not had significant supporting mods. The service history is ok, following the BMW spec of 30 000 km oil changes. I do not agree with BMW on the interval, but it is what it is, and the previous owner followed it.

No idea if the car was tracked, but it had BMW brake pads, and no track use supporting mods. Stock M Perf suspension and so on. Tires weren't anything special either. Rims are pretty cool, though.

Yikes, thanks for the info. Maybe this is something I should be considering as a maintenance item. Currently at 80k km on my 2014 with little to no service history.

After my only track day last year I found some shavings in the oil filter housing. Got me real nervous.

30,000km oil change interval is a bit of a red flag..

On the other hand, it perfectly follows what BMW tells us to do. So can't blame the previous owner for not doing it more frequently.

Yo, thanks for the tip, there is a Holdaak in Highland Park which isn't too far from where I live. Going to check it out! Love Korean fried chicken.

Going in on Monday to get an estimate on vinyl wrap removal. Yes, I could do it myself but a professional service will take care of adhesive residue that is not easily removed.

I work at a shop where vinyl is removed on vehicles everyday, it's really not worth it to pay money to do, and if you do it correctly there won't any adhesive residue left behind. (And in the off chance that there is adhevis left behind it can be easily cleaned up with a little adhesive remover than iso alcohol). Don't want to see anyone waste money that could be used on fun stuff for their car!

Perhaps I am mistaken, but at least in the USA I thought that BMW was recommending oil changes annually or every 10,000 miles, which is approximately every 16,000km.

Yup I think the 30 000 km (or two years) only applies to Europe. The US fuel quality/sulfur content has something to do with it if I remember right. I think it's also a matter of adapting to the market and what people are used to.
