Brake Pad Warning
Upon turning the ignition on the service indicator (picture of car) is amber.
Going into IDrive it tells me the front pads need changing in 1300 miles. Question is, is this a timed warning or is it triggered by a sensor detecting they are low? I've had no change in braking sensation and covered around 6000 miles since purchasing the vehicle after it had a full service at a dealership. |

Sensor based. If its anything like my 228 the front pads are good for about 45k miles. Easy to check since BMW pads destroy the rotors. Bend down and feel how much of a lip is on the rotor.

Thanks for the reply.
Currently got 34,000 miles on a 218D so they've maybe gone a little sooner than expected. Fingers crossed it's not new discs (rotors) too but I'm not that lucky. I'm assuming it's a new sensor whilst I'm there? Last edited by Middy2000; 07-05-2021 at 02:49 PM.. |
