Spark plug wear uneven and possible burn?
I pulled out what I think are the OE plugs (serial number has the S which I can't buy anywhere) around 38k miles and I noticed that there is uneven wear when comparing all 6 of them. I took them out in order from closest to the bumper going towards the windshield and they are labeled 1 (near bumper) to 6 (near windshield).
I'm not sure how the cylinders are numbered but it seems like plug 1,2,3 are the worst and 4,6 kinda new. The back of 4 and 6 also have a kind of burn mark that i didn't see on the others. All of the cylinders had similar amounts of rust left in the hole except plug 4, there was hardly any. I used a shop vac to suck it out. The question I have is does it look like plugs 1,2,3, and 5 are running lean and 4 & 6 are optimal? Or am I reading them wrong and they are just burnt. Also is there any way to get the other cylinders to run optimal? |
