YES - Factory Hose Clamps
The photo is the NEW Thermostat and WP with all BMW hose clamps. Good or Bad - I choose to stick with OEM clamps.
. . Vehicle is still on jack stands waiting for the FTP Inlet Pipe & New Thermostat hose to block flange replacement (aluminum) . . . Then Coolant Air Purge & Oil Priming. |

How many miles does your engine have? Was there an issue with the parts or more preventative maintenance? Just curious as I know I will have to tackle this issue also.

Replacement Interval WP/ Thermo
My thought process:
1. At 69K miles my OFHG & Oil Cooler gaskets were showing evidence of weeping oil (oily dirt around housing). Prior N54 335i - I waited to long. 2. These housings have oil & coolant running through them. 3. Car is due for a coolant change (I change every 3 years). 4. Car was delivered in 2014 as a 2015 MY. 5. Serp belt and tensioner & pulley due for a change due to age & scared if belt breaks how it can get sucked up into engine. So - I just planed a 'Refresh" and tackled many items at the same time. All of these known failures occur between 70-100k. I plan on keeping the car for another 5 years. So -- I decided to do it now and hopefully this will last me for the life of the car. Throw in that the car has been tuned in the past year and the timing was right. So if you have 70k Plus -- I bet that if you look closely your gasket are weeping. If you DIY it is NOT cost prohibitive . |
