So I got my first "serious" door ding today. It sucks because it's on the drivers door in front of the mirrors where I have to see it all the time. I can cover the paint with touch up, but it will still look bad. What are my options?

Paintless dent repair (PDR) can remove/minimize the dent. Some more paint might come off in the process, but you'd be touching it up anyway. A good detail shop might have access to a skilled PDR tech & be able to do the touch-up. BMW sells touch-up kits with color & clear. Dr. ColorChip is another option.

amazing paint color.
dent removal; probing tools between glass and door by using a blow ups bladder to create entrance. dent removal by using a adhesive pin to pull out. dent removal by removing interior door trim and using tools to reshape for chip; touch-up yourself have a body shop respray whole door using computer to mix paint to match color |

Thanks. I'm going to look into the PDR before any touch up. The location is unfortunate. I'm going to hate seeing it every time I open my door.
