MY2021 Allocation woes

Trying to order an F22 M240i, but my sales advisor having difficulty getting the allocation. Has anyone else recently gotten an allocation? If so, what was your experience?

New vehicle in my virtual garage today.

Knowing that BMW AG was going to resume production on July 10. I got an Insta post from BMW that all BMW NA dealerships were due to reopen end of June. I emailed a broker June 22 to place my order; application and details got ironed out over a couple of weeks. I got verbal confirmation of my order July 10. I received my production number last night.

For now, my dealer has put my order in the 'order bank'; supposedly earliest build date is currently beginning of Sept, but might move up if the car is marked as sold (or something to that effect). So just waiting until he provides an update.

I hope this is the right thread for this question. The BMW website no longer offers the option to build your own 2-Series coupe and a local sales rep told me that was no longer an option nor are they getting allocation. Have they ceased production of the current generation already? It will be months before the new generation (manufactured in Mexico) is available and I cannot believe they would go this long without one of their more popular models.

Production is still going on until next month I believe. Remaining allocations have all been distributed to dealers, so finding one that is still modifiable is the hard part.

What is the source of the statement that all remaining allocations have been distributed to dealers.

BMW released a few more allocations the last couple of weeks, great news for those wanting to snag one of the remaining F22/23 generation cars. I was able to get one of them and couldn't be happier, my alternative was to buy out my '18 lease but prefer to get a slightly different optioned new one.

The lease price on the new 2022 m240i is wild. My current 2018 m240i was 53k & is only 670 a month.
