I have a friend staying because of the Texas Snowpocalypse, and she's as fussy as hell DURING a crisis. She knew when she came here (because of no water) that I had limited choice of food (chili or soup basically). "I don't feel like that - got any pizza?". No. "See if you can order one in". No. I managed to make some chili which wasn't bad, but the next day "I've had that recently - got any snacks?". No. "Chips?". No. "Garlic bread?". No. What part of "I have chili and soup" was difficult to understand, and in a crisis situation STOP BEING FUSSY!

I managed to get some Pillsbury pizza dough, and we made pizza - it wasn't bad. The next day I managed to buy some pizza from HEB too as backup. Now she only wants to eat the HEB one because the other dough is too sweet for her taste, so she thinks I should go shopping again to get more of that one despite having dough to make pizza in the fridge.

I just can't wait for her to go home.
Can I ask a question without sounding like a prick? Who doesn't have more food in their house than chili and soup? Maybe you're young and I just don't remember those days.

She's become a bit of a princess in recent years. No idea why.

I tend to shop daily for what I feel like - I don't keep a well stocked fridge like normal humans, and don't tend to buy frozen meals. But also - we were by then 5 days into a crisis situation, so even if I was buying weekly I would have been near out of everything. It was down to the tinned stuff that's there for emergencies.

No offense to ya'll that do. But smoking has always been a huge turn-off. Could be the hottest girl I've ever seen, but once I saw her with a cigarette, immediately went from a 10 to a 3.5

That's a proper sport touring bike. Very nice. I'd love to have something like that one day. Both of my bikes beat me up so bad I cant do long rides anymore. The heart still wants drop bars and stiff suspension but the old man back, neck, wrists, elbows, say otherwise.

Nice bike!

I rode dirtbikes and ATVs for years (still do a little bit) and always thought about a motorcycle. Then I worked in auto insurance for a little while and saw so many horrific accidents and it changed my mind, along with a few friends who rode and had close calls. Stay safe out there.

Been riding for a bit over 25 years now and am finally looking at selling my current bike (FZ09) without a replacement already picked out.

I’ve been in I think 6 accidents, lost a few friends to accidents, had a couple others seriously injured (quadriplegic and/or major surgeries). Still continue riding through all of it.

I’ve lost friends and family members to car accidents too far more than motorcycles. Also have had over a dozen people I know commit suicide. Lost 5 friends in combat in Iraq.

“And then he greeted Death as an old friend, and went with him gladly, and, equals, they departed this life.”

Sooner or later when it’s your time, it’s your time. Death is a simple fact of life. I wouldn’t say I go out of my way seeking it but it no longer scares me the way it used to. It simply exists as a contrast to life.

I'm very surprised "forestation" didn't make it into the convo. I was under the impression this was mandatory these days.

If I had no water at home and someone was letting me stay at their house... you can bet your ass I would eat whatever the fuck they offered. Or I would offer to order food for everyone or worst case scenario they don't want me to order food and they are offering me bat, I would politely decline, say I'm allergic to bat and sneak over to mcdonalds later.
