Extended maintenance refresh

Hi all,

Just bought a gorgeous 2017 M240i from a fellow member. Love it so far! One of the great things about this car for me was the CPO warranty and an prepaid maintenance package through 2023. I understand transfer of the CPO requires $200 and a signed form to BMW. For the maintenance contract, I understand it may need to be “refreshed.” I have read in different posts and location for a 2017 this should be $100, $500, or $700. Before I go to the dealer I’d like to have my facts straight. Has anyone done this who can confirm the process and cost?

Thanks all! Happy to be joining the 2 community. My last foray into BMW was a 2006 330i sedan. It was a great car but clearly illustrated to me the value of a warranty and maintenance contract lol!

Hi Mike! Just sent you an email with the Ultimate Care+ maintenance info which includes the info to have it put in your name. No fee. It follows the car, but it's better to have it officially put in your name. Sorry it took so long to find it.

Also as a record for anyone else searching this either via Google or on the forums, I've pasted the official wording from the Ultimate Care+ maintenance contract. This is not the one that comes with the car when you buy it new (as that no longer transfers), but is for an extended plan you buy. Straight from BMW's mouth:

"The Program covers the Enrolled Vehicle only and cannot be transferred to another vehicle. In the event of an ownership change, the Program coverage will remain in place on the Enrolled Vehicle. In such circumstances, the new owner must complete and mail the Information Change Card located in the back of the BMW Maintenance Booklet or call BMW Customer Relations Center at 1-800-831-1117."

Thanks! I was fully expecting to pay BMW a transfer fee, this is awesome!
