If we are talking about the one from eBay, it only fits the M package bumpers.

Do all these diffusers fit over stock exhaust tips without extensions? I remember reading that the M Sport one required cutting and adding an extension to clear the valance.

You do need tip extenders or extended tips, otherwise the stock length will be sucked under the diffuser a bit

On the 230i, at least, I can't reuse the stock tips as they don't fit extenders. It's either both extenders and tips or neither.

2020 m-sport diffuser stock exhaust
Just to throw another log on the fire...
I like many others, was underwhelmed by the stock diffuser on my new 2020 M240 vert. Took the path of least resistance and went with the M-sport diffuser unpainted, and no exhaust modification. Was worried about the tips getting lost, but came away very satisfied with the results. I am older so I prefer a more subtle look, and actually like the way the stock tips are tucked into the flow of the diffuser. Thanks to "leedam" and others who shared their install tips. Really is an easy driveway (single beer) job. |

Hey guys, so sorry for the long update. It just came in today because the post office lost it and there was an insane process to ship it back to me..
I will update tomorrow with pictures. It came the same glossy grey colour the stock valence is, I thought it would've been a grey matte plastic instead so I opt'd to not get it painted black at the time of purchase (+$20 to to get it painted matched from the eBay seller). Overall its not bad quality for $150, on par with the stock valence from the factory. Defs not as aggressive as the M performance one as the fins are a little smaller. I will post fitment pictures tomorrow and see how it looks.

Overall for $150 USD, this diffuser is defs not bad. Just seems very similar to the stock valence with the exception of making my exhaust tips seem much smaller and the fins.
I would recommend paying the +$20 to match paint if you're looking for a cheap diffuser. I might rock it for a few months and upgrade later. Sorry the picture isn't the best, my garage is filled with storage and currently have 1 mismatched winter wheel on because of a flat.

I would say the only problem I noticed with mine is that the tabs across the top and sides are smooth, unlike the original diffuser that has wedge shaped tabs that clip into the holes. Seems like a slightly loose fit, but it hasn't been a problem since I put it on the car in March. Is yours like that?

Is the genuine M Performance diffuser one piece? I've seen the various different ways it could be painted, but not sure if its been taken apart and painted, or masked and painted. If it can be taken apart, I'd consider painting the surround body colour and getting the finned part carbon dipped.
