I didn't see any threads discussing the Bilstein B16 Damptronic Part #49-255980. I have placed an order to have them installed on my M235i xdrive. Would like to hear any feedback on these or Bilstein suspension in general. This will be my first set of coilovers.
I plan on using these on the track and will provide my own feedback once I have driven on them. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...80#description |

Okay, initial impressions after just a couple days of driving on the new suspension. First let me say, this is my first set of coil overs ever. I have been driving my M235xi stock suspension for about 4years, so I can only compare to these.
Before I got behind the wheel I had the notion in my head that the car was gonna feel very stiff and clunky like some of the old ricers I rode in with friends way back when. But I was willing to make this sacrifice if it meant better corning/handling. Boy was I sadly mistaken. The suspension is very high quality. They are more comfortable then the stock in that they don't feel stiff when going over bumps, the shocks glides right over but also provides a precision like response as if your car want to stay planted. Sport mode adds in the stiffness you look for when your ready to corner the car. Even in comfort the corning is very much improved. 10 of 10 for these and I would buy coilovers every time now if I'm getting new race car. Bilstein's are nice |

I was initially going for the B16 on my 235xdrive when I ordered in October, but they said there would be at least a 6 month wait. (Knowing how things turned out globally, the wait wouldn't of been too bad after all, as I hardly used the car for 3 months)
Being impatient, I switched to the KW V2. They're really good, not too concerned about losing active dampers as I'm always in sport anyway. The ride seems to handle the potholes around my area better than stock too. |
