Love mine as well. My only complaint is the car almost stalls on cold starts.

If you are also using a Jb4, disconnect the sensor on the intake and the issue will be fixed

Have had mine on for 3 years now, on the third replacement filter. The sound is worth these alone imo, plus for an open intake they look relatively "low key" as opposed to the "snake" style piped units. Like how it's molded plastic also...

CEL, rough idle/cold starts are likely due to a dirty MAF sensor. It's most likely because of the oil from the filter, but also be careful not to touch the sensor when you take it out.
Get a MAF sensor cleaner and clean the sensor. If you're still having problems I would wash the cone and apply less oil. If problems persist idk man since you have a JB4, you could unplug the MAF sensor and just use the o2 sensor? It would not cause any errors in your ECU. Good luck and stay safe in NY! |

not sure whats the point of the bump. Your question has already been answered.
Use a Jb4 and disconnect the sensor, that's how you can fix the issue or you can put a closed intake instead

You can also unscrew it dude. Take the entire housing out.

Push the sensor into the housing firmly. Then pull back the small finger nail tip sized tab at the top of the connector, this will release the plug. If you have to force anything, you're not doing it right.

Just a few kind words of advice. If you had to have someone install an intake and you're having trouble removing a connector, it may be best to leave the work to someone more seasoned or at least have them show you so you can learn.
BMW connectors can be finicky and each one has a special trick to unlock them. For connectors such as the MAF, you may need to use a pick tool to disengage the clip from the opposite side of the tab you're pushing down with your finger. The trick is not to force anything because if you break the connector, you're in for a headache. Lastly, the BMS intake is well known to cause all sorts of driveability issues including stalling and rough running conditions. It's never been shown to make power and I would say it's likely to make less power than the stock intake when driving in hot conditions. |

I know from my own experience that this is excellent advice.
