Hi all

I'm a former multiple BMW (and Mini) owner who has recently returned to Bimmer after a stint in Benz land.

I just wanted to say 'hi' and kudos to everyone here for creating a killer community. I feel like I'm 'home' as BMW has always had a special place in my heart.

Attached is a pathetically-unplanned snap of my 228 that I snuck while signing paperwork at the dealer two weeks ago. I have so much planned for this car which I plan to chronicle in my ongoing YouTube series.

That's all for now, I look forward to learning from everyone here!

I was shocked to ever visit Benz land and I did enjoy jt. I leased a C450 AMG sport and it was an incredible car. I had three good years with it and it never failed to turn heads (or snap necks).

My track toy (as unlikely a choice as it was) was a 2005 SLK350. Blast to drive. Naturally aspirated. Smooth, torquey and quite fun on the track.

Sadly, I didn't need the C450 so I completed my lease and bid it farewell and, as for the SLK350... see below.

Certainly glad to hear your on-track experience was not even worse..it certainly could have been as you acknowledge in your video. Thanks for linking to it..a reminder to us all...one never knows the skill (or lack of same) of those who share the track (or public roads for that matter) with us.

Yes, could have been much worse. This was the second time that fine German engineering saved my life in a brutal crash. The first was my first gen BMW Z4.

Sucks, but thanks for sharing. That was a lot of standing water. Surprised they didn't call it off.
