Wait a minute...upstatedoc is the banner here, I only complimented his banning skills. He is the one that banned in a thread that is NOT the ban thread.

Ditto on the Teeling Irish Whiskey. These are my current go-to intoxicants. I'm not a big fan of what Diagio has done to Bundaberg Rum since they took over. Kind of like Disney is to Star Wars. The Small Batch is one good thing that has happened.

If you haven't heard of it, Legent is a collaboration between the Master Distillers of Jim Beam and Suntory - Fred Noe of Jim beam starts with traditionally aged bourbon for 5 years, then some goes on to be finished in wine and sherry casks, and the final product is blended by Shinji Fukuyo from Suntory.
You really get the wine aspects on the nose, then a rich and sweet flavor of traditional bourbons followed by a finish influenced by the sherry casks - really oaky and spicy, but with a sweetness. This is my third bottle, and at its price point (~$40ish) it is really an interesting bourbon. |

I ended up drinking a bunch of Grey Mules this weekend. Amazing what a difference the right (or wrong) ginger beer can make.
Grey Bai, depending on flavor, isn't bad either. |

which suntory? i've tried a couple of different pours, but havent really found one that made me want to buy a whole bottle yet. maybe i just need some more "practice" with the different flavor profiles...

I've been mixing a lot of moscow mules this summer, and a few dark n stormy drinks as well. Just curious what might be in a grey mule though... |

I expect a grey mule is a Moscow Mule with Grey Goose specifically.
you can make almost anything into a mule; love kentucky mules myself with either rye or bourbon. I generally go for Fever Tree ginger beer, what one do you find to be the best? |
